BIG BOLD and BEAUTIFUL
Oh man, when I was in Gallup last month, I went shopping and boy, did I do it up right! This is probably the first thing that caught my eye and I couldn’t leave there without it!
This is a Joyce Waseta piece. She’s made with turquoise (looks like Sleeping Beauty to me), Jet, Mother of Pearl and Opal. Look closely because HER squash blossom? Is a replica of this big piece!
She is a big one, coming in at just a tad under 6″ from top to bottom. She’s a pendant or a pin and will accommodate up to 10mm Navajo Pearls. I have her hung on some Vinita Cowboy pearls (hey Suzanne, I told you I love love love Vinita Cowboy pearls!) and they look so so good with her! They are 8.5mm pearls and are 21.5″ long. This piece is signed by the artist and I have included a body shot of it on me so you can see how big she is. She weighs in at 94g. There’s a spot up by her shoulder that looks like it’s cracked but it’s not… it’s just where the artist pieced in some Jet.
