Oh my gosh! While I was in Gallup a couple weeks ago, I shopped till I dropped and found a TON of good stuff! This is definitely one of the “good stuffs”!!

This is a Tufa cast Deer Kachina by Kelsey Jimmie. She’s HEAVY with sterling silver and is just beautifully made. He signed it on the back (and to do that in a Tufa cast, they have to sign the carving backwards so this is a big big deal!) All the work that went into this piece is unbelievable. To even do a Tufa cast, you have to take 2 pieces, get them all level on the sides that are going to touch each other while pouring, carve into 1 side the design you want, sign the backside of it, wire it together, heat your sterling to about 1760* degrees and pour it into the mold. It’s a complicated, intricate, intensive process but the outcome is amazing! This cuff has turquoise in it, as well, so that means he had to carve the bezel into the stone, as well. I stand in awe!

This measures 6 1/2″ including the gap and weighs in at 96g… she’s small but mighty!
